What happened: The New England Patriots have begun integrating veteran wide receiver Romeo Doubs into their offensive scheme as a primary target for rookie Drake Maye. In Miami, coaches highlighted the increased confidence and system mastery of Malik Willis, while the Buffalo Bills are transitioning rugby standout Travis Clayton to the defensive line.

Why it matters: The division is prioritizing developmental depth and veteran support for young passers during the summer program. Doubs provides a reliable perimeter threat for Maye’s transition, and Willis’s maturation offers the Dolphins high-upside security behind Tua Tagovailoa as the AFC East landscape shifts.

What to watch: Watch for the progression of the Maye-Doubs rapport as the Patriots move toward mandatory minicamp and July training camp.
