Copyright & Takedown
Last updated: April 23, 2026
Wire Report respects copyright. Most visual and video content appearing on wire.report is embedded directly from X (Twitter) or YouTube using those platforms' official embed methods — the underlying media is served from the originating platform, not from our servers. We do not host third-party video files on our CDN.
Requesting removal
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized agent) and you believe content on wire.report infringes your rights, please send a notice to dmca@wire.report. We aim to respond within 24 hours on business days.
What to include
- Identification of the work you claim has been infringed.
- The URL(s) on wire.report where the allegedly infringing content appears (e.g., https://wire.report/article/<slug>), and where possible the specific embedded source (X status URL or YouTube video URL).
- Your full name, mailing address, phone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
- Where the content is embedded from X or YouTube, we will suppress the embed on wire.report (replaced with a thumbnail link-out) within 24 hours of a valid notice. To remove the underlying media from the hosting platform, you must also file a notice with X or YouTube directly.
- Where the content is an image or text hosted by us, we will remove it within 24 hours of a valid notice.
- Sources that are the subject of repeated, valid takedown notices will be added to our denylist and no longer embedded on wire.report automatically (three strikes, rolling 30 days).
Counter-notices
If you believe content was removed in error and you hold the right to publish it, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@wire.report including the identification of the removed material, your contact information, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a result of mistake or misidentification, and your signature.
A note on embedded content
wire.report only embeds content from a limited allowlist of official league, broadcaster, team, and verified journalist accounts on X and YouTube. Every embed displays a source line identifying the original publisher and linking to the original post. We do not claim any right, license, or sublicense in embedded content.
