What happened: The Golden State Warriors, who hold the No. 11 pick, reached out to the Charlotte Hornets a couple of weeks ago to gauge a deal for both of Charlotte's first-round selections, Nos. 14 and 18, per ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel. The Hornets showed no interest and are said to be comfortable holding their position. Golden State remains open to moving down for the right price and continues to canvass the league ahead of Tuesday's draft.

Why it matters: With Stephen Curry and Draymond Green no longer enough on their own to carry Golden State, the front office is treating the draft as a chance to add cost-controlled depth at multiple positions. Management has signaled it can't be choosy about which slots it lands given how many roster needs exist heading into 2026-27.

By the numbers: Warriors draft capital: No. 11 overall. 14 and No. 18. Golden State has indicated willingness to slide back from 11 if it can collect an additional selection in the late teens.

What to watch: Watch whether the Warriors find a different trade partner before Tuesday night at Barclays Center, or stand pat at No. 11 if the price to move down stays too high.
