What happened: Aaron Judge could use a few Arizona Fall League games as a ramp-up if the Yankees are still playing in a later postseason round. The fall league opens today.

Why it matters: That route would give Judge live at-bats before any postseason activation after he was left off the Yankees' ALDS roster. It would also give New York a game-action option if Judge's return extends deeper into October.

What to watch: The next signal is whether the Yankees stay alive long enough for that path to become relevant.
