What happened: The central pairing stayed intact until a 74th-minute substitution, with the returning midfielder completing the match. An attacker returning from injury remained unused, while the visiting captain also played 90 minutes.

Why it matters: AC Milan has won its first two Serie A matches. The midfield selection points to immediate first-team responsibility after a season away.

What to watch: Watch whether the same midfield pairing starts again and when the injured attacker returns to the lineup.
