What happened: Ade Oladipo criticized the inactivity of America's biggest boxing stars. He said the group once tipped to dominate American boxing for the next decade appears too seldom. He said the sport might need to find a new crop.

Why it matters: Prolonged gaps between fights stall momentum for headliners and divisions. American boxing relies on familiar names to anchor dates and broadcasts. Continued inactivity opens the door for other fighters to take that spotlight.

What to watch: Watch whether leading American fighters set dates and fight more often. The response will show if the current group reasserts itself or cedes ground.
