Air Force loses QB Liam Szarka for season with lower-leg injury

What happened: Szarka ran for 81 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 14-9 win over Navy. The academy announced Monday the junior will miss the rest of the season with a lower-leg injury.

Why it matters: He leads the Mountain West with 98 rushing yards per game and seven rushing touchdowns. It is his second straight season cut short after a broken arm last November.

What to watch: Sophomore Evan Medders is likely to start Saturday at Northern Illinois. He has 109 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in three appearances.
