What happened: A'ja Wilson recorded her fifth block of the night, moving her past Tammy Sutton-Brown into eighth place on the WNBA's all-time blocks list. The milestone came during 2026 Commissioner's Cup play.

Why it matters: The climb adds another defensive marker to Wilson's résumé as one of the league's premier two-way forces. Blocks leaderboards reward sustained rim protection across seasons, and passing a veteran like Sutton-Brown signals where Wilson now sits among the WNBA's career shot-blockers.

What to watch: Watch whether Wilson keeps stacking multi-block nights and how quickly she closes on the next name ahead of her on the all-time list.
