Alex Van Pelt said being under center is still a "work in progress" for Michael Penix Jr., though he is very pleased wit Via @marcraimondi on X

What happened: Van Pelt said he is very pleased with how far the Atlanta Falcons quarterback has advanced in the alignment despite limited prior professional reps, per Marc Raimondi.

Why it matters: Expanding Penix's mechanics under center broadens the Falcons' offensive options as the season progresses. The quarterback remained Atlanta's answer despite an October rib scare after returning from a September injury absence.

What to watch: Penix continues his development in Van Pelt's offense as the Falcons prepare for their next matchup.
