What happened: Anders Lee signed a three-year, $16.2 million contract with Utah in July and is now with the club ahead of the 2026-27 season. He scored his first Mammoth goal in preseason play on Sept. 23.

Why it matters: Lee gives Utah an experienced winger as the Mammoth build toward opening night. Bo Horvat's Sept. 14 appointment as Islanders captain also shows New York has already moved on from Lee's departure.

What to watch: Watch whether Lee adds to that preseason total before Utah finalizes its opening-night group. The rest of exhibition play will show how quickly he settles into the Mammoth forward mix.
