What happened: The performance came Sunday in a U.S. winners’ bracket game at the Little League World Series. Two days earlier, Johnson recorded the final two outs of a combined no-hitter.

Why it matters: The outing put his side in position to remain on the unbeaten path toward the U.S. title game. Staying in the winners’ bracket preserves its margin for error in the double-elimination tournament.

What to watch: The finish will determine whether the outing leads to a winners’ bracket advance.
