What happened: Anthony Markanich was voted into the 2026 MLS All-Star First XI after a standout start to the regular season. The MLS All-Stars will face the Liga MX All-Stars on July 29 in Charlotte.

Why it matters: The selection gives Minnesota representation in the starting lineup for MLS's annual showcase. Markanich's attacking production from left back helped distinguish him in voting by fans, players and media.

By the numbers: Markanich has four goals and two assists across 15 appearances, including 14 starts and 1,192 minutes. He leads MLS defenders in goals and becomes Minnesota's eighth All-Star selection.

What to watch: The remaining roster selections will be announced later. The match is scheduled for July 29 at Bank of America Stadium.
