What happened: Esparza stopped Sam Fitzgerald 2:35 into the opening round to start ONE Fight Night 48. The early knockout gave the Prime Video card an immediate finish before the rest of the lineup unfolded.

Why it matters: The result put Esparza on the board quickly on a card airing live in the U.S. and Canada on Prime Video, in the U.K. and Ireland on Sky Sports, and across more than 195 countries overall. Quick stoppages in the opener tend to command outsized attention because they land before the night's higher-billed fights begin.

By the numbers: Finish time: 2:35 of Round 1. Broadcast reach: Prime Video in the U.S. and Canada, Sky Sports in the U.K. and Ireland, plus TV distribution in 195-plus countries.

What to watch: ONE Fight Night 48 continues with the rest of the card still to come. Esparza's next move will come into sharper focus once the event's full results are in.
