What happened: The Dream publicly backed Reese for Defensive Player of the Year, All-WNBA and All-Defense in a “For Your Consideration” push. The team called Reese “a generational player” while pressing her defensive case.

Why it matters: The endorsement lands with Reese already in the Defensive Player of the Year conversation in recent Wire Report coverage alongside Gabby Williams and A'ja Wilson. It also extends a recent run of attention on Reese's defense during the FIBA Women's World Cup.

What to watch: Award ballots and honor-team announcements are the next concrete checkpoint for that push. Reese's recent defensive spotlight should keep her case in view as those decisions near.
