What happened: Hank Kempf, Jayson Megna, Nikita Novosyolov, Yanick Turcotte and Jake Wise were reassigned to Colorado Eagles training camp. Shawn Carrier was reassigned to his junior club.

Why it matters: The moves shrink the main camp group as preseason roster decisions move closer. They also separate players onto AHL and junior tracks ahead of opening-night assignments.

By the numbers: Six players were moved in this round: five to AHL camp and one to junior hockey. The AHL group includes two centers, one defenseman, one goaltender and one left wing.

What to watch: Watch for additional camp cuts as roster decisions narrow. Opening-night assignments for the Colorado Eagles should sharpen once the NHL group is pared down further.
