Hit that mark twice all last season

To set this tone is encouraging given how bad power play was a year ago Via @TroyRenck on X

What happened: Colorado carried a 6-3 lead into the third period of its preseason game. The power play accounted for three of the six goals.

Why it matters: The man advantage struggled for much of last season. An early three-goal night changes the baseline entering the 2026-27 season.

By the numbers: Colorado recorded three or more power-play goals twice last season, Oct. 28 against New Jersey and March 30 against Calgary. It matched that total in two periods tonight while building a 6-3 lead.

What to watch: Watch third-period deployment to see if the same units stay together. Opening-night usage will show whether the structure holds.
