What happened: The 19-year-old center enters a four-team group after helping earn European silver in 2025. Her July 18 WNBA outing featured four third-quarter 3-pointers and 14 points.

Why it matters: The debut moves Fam from continental competition to the senior global stage. She scored 21 points in the 2025 European semifinal before finishing with silver.

By the numbers: Each team plays three group games. Four group winners advance directly to the quarterfinals, eight teams enter qualification, and four are eliminated.

What to watch: Fam's usage in the opener will show how large a role she carries on the global stage.
