Why it matters: The alignment defines early rotation hierarchy entering the 2026-27 season. How bench minutes divide after the opening unit will shape closing-lineup choices.

By the numbers: Deni Avdija: 10 PTS, 5 REB, 1 AST; Tristen Newton: 8 PTS, 2 REB; Keegan Murray: 6 PTS, 2 REB.

What to watch: Portland's next preseason rotation and Morant's minutes off the bench remain the near-term focus.
