What happened: Rawlings announced the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs as the 2026 Gold Glove Team Award winners. The Blue Jays earned the American League honor, while the Cubs secured the National League award.

Why it matters: The team honors recognize collective fielding excellence across an entire roster over the 162-game regular season. Both clubs enter the winter with established defensive baselines as front offices plan offseason roster construction.

What to watch: Both clubs now shift focus toward free agency and the winter trade market ahead of the 2027 season.
