What happened: The Toronto Blue Jays reinstated right-hander Tommy Nance from the 15-day injured list on Monday and designated right-hander Yariel Rodríguez for assignment. Nance returns to the active roster for tonight's series opener against Philadelphia after missing three weeks with right forearm discomfort.

Why it matters: Toronto is prioritizing bullpen reliability as the club sits just 0.5 games back of the final American League Wild Card spot. Rodríguez, who joined the Blue Jays on a multi-year deal in 2024, was moved after struggling to a 7.71 ERA and a 2.04 WHIP over 10 relief appearances during the 2026 campaign.

What to watch: Nance will be available out of the bullpen for tonight's matchup at Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays have seven days to trade Rodríguez, or he will be placed on waivers.
