What happened: The St. Louis Blues signed forward Dillon Dube to a one-year, one-way contract worth $850,000. The 27-year-old joined the organization on an AHL tryout in December and spent last season with the affiliate in Springfield before earning the NHL deal.

Why it matters: The contract rewards a strong AHL run and gives the Blues an inexpensive forward option who is pushing to reclaim an NHL role. A former second-round pick in 2016, Dube is attempting a return to the league after being acquitted of criminal charges in July 2025.

By the numbers: With Springfield, Dube played 46 regular-season games and tied for second on the team with 20 goals while ranking fourth with 37 points, then added eight points (five goals, three assists) across 12 Calder Cup playoff games. In 325 career NHL games with Calgary, he has 127 points on 57 goals and 70 assists.

What to watch: Watch whether Dube can convert his AHL production into a bottom-six NHL role when the Blues open the 2026-27 season, or whether he starts again in Springfield.
