What happened: Nix made his 2026 preseason debut Friday in a 33-13 loss. His work ended after the opening two possessions.

Why it matters: Man coverage is viewed as a favorable matchup entering the regular season. His efficiency against zone will show whether defenses can slow him by guarding space instead of matching receivers.

By the numbers: Nix completed 6 of 9 passes for 76 yards and one touchdown, averaging 8.4 yards per attempt with a 129.9 passer rating.

What to watch: Nix is expected to play again in the preseason finale. His production against different coverage shells will merit attention.
