What happened: Nix entered Friday night's preseason matchup for his first game action since January. He sat out last week's opener under a plan established before training camp.

Why it matters: A fractured right ankle kept Nix out of the AFC Championship Game. His return provides live preparation before the 2026 regular season.

By the numbers: Nix underwent two right ankle surgeries during the offseason but did not miss a training-camp snap.

What to watch: Nix is expected to play again in Friday's preseason finale.
