What happened: Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman hosted Bob Costas on The Show Ep. 221. The White Sox conversation centers on where the current October surge sits historically. Heyman and Sherman also devote a segment to Boone's situation.

Why it matters: Chicago is playing through the ALDS after stacking wins behind new lineup pieces. Outside historical labels now shape how the run is judged beyond one round. The Boone discussion lands as New York's dugout questions carry into October.

What to watch: Chicago's next ALDS result determines whether the miracle framing holds. Boone's standing remains the other thread to track.
