What happened: Kansas City put forward Witt as its nominee for the 2026 honor. The award goes annually to the top offensive performer in each league. Fan voting is now open.

Why it matters: The selection follows his May Player of the Month honor during a 93-loss Kansas City season. It gives the club a nationally recognized finalist in a year defined by bullpen collapse.

What to watch: Voting continues ahead of the official award announcement.
