What happened: Fabrizio Romano reports Brentford's deal for RB Salzburg centre-back Jannik Schuster is almost done, confirming his exclusive from two days earlier. The Bees have a verbal club-to-club agreement worth a €20m package for the Austrian defender.

Why it matters: Schuster would be a notable defensive addition for Brentford as they continue building a young, athletic backline. This continues the same Schuster pursuit Romano flagged earlier this week, signaling the negotiation has moved from advanced talks to near-completion in 48 hours.

What to watch: Watch for confirmation of personal terms, medical scheduling, and an official announcement from either club. Brentford's next defensive moves this window will indicate whether Schuster is a starter signing or squad depth.
