What happened: Theisen previously served as head baseball coach for the Hillsdale College Chargers before joining Milwaukee's major-league coaching staff. The Michigan native shares state collegiate baseball roots with his father, longtime coach Gordie Theisen, who currently serves on Albion College's Britons staff.

Why it matters: Theisen's batting group helped propel the Milwaukee Brewers to their first National League pennant since 1982, snapping a 44-year wait for a World Series berth. His progression from Michigan college dugouts to October baseball reflects the player-development background guiding Milwaukee's lineup in the postseason.

What to watch: Milwaukee hosts Game 1 of the 2026 World Series with Theisen directing the club's postseason hitting preparation.
