I’m told this morning per source #Browns not looking to trade Shedeur Sanders and they want to keep developing him. Via @RuiterWrongFAN on X

What happened: Cleveland intends to retain Shedeur Sanders and continue developing him as part of its quarterback group. Sanders entered the league as a 2025 fifth-round pick from Colorado and played eight games last season.

Why it matters: Retaining Sanders keeps a cost-controlled young passer in a room facing a numbers crunch with Gabriel's presence. It signals Cleveland values developmental time over recouping a late-round pick via trade.

By the numbers: Shedeur Sanders: 120-of-212 for 1,400 yards, 7 TD, 10 INT in 8 games in 2025. Dillon Gabriel: 110-of-185 for 937 yards, 7 TD, 2 INT in 10 games in 2025. Sanders drafted 144th overall in 2025; Gabriel drafted 94th overall in 2025.

What to watch: Watch how practice reps split and whether Gabriel's status changes the game-day depth chart.
