What happened: Corey Bullock and Torricelli Simpkins turned college ties and hometown reunions into shared time with Carolina. Bullock, out of Maryland and in his second NFL season, joined Carolina after the club claimed him from the Ravens on Sept. 1.

Why it matters: Familiarity eases a September transition to a new locker room and system. Carolina shuffled the back end of its roster in early September, making that continuity a practical asset.

What to watch: Watch whether both factor into Carolina's plans as the regular season continues.
