What happened: LAFC goalkeeper Cabral Carter denied a 42nd-minute penalty attempt from Colorado Rapids forward Rafael Navarro. The stop protected Los Angeles' advantage heading into the intermission.

Why it matters: Navarro utilized a stutter-step run-up before firing toward the bottom right corner, where the homegrown keeper made a diving save. The missed opportunity forced Colorado to enter the halftime break trailing in the Western Conference clash.
