What happened: The club said it is down to its last four 2026 MLS regular-season matches and asked Caps fans to rally behind it. The post included a ticket link to make it easier for supporters to back the team through the run-in.

Why it matters: Current MLS standings place the team at the top of the Western Conference, where positions 1-7 get direct best-of-three access and 8-9 move to a single-game Wild Card path. With only four matches cited, each point now carries direct playoff-seeding weight for the opening round window.

What to watch: The next story point is whether the club holds that cushion across the final four stretch. Fan turnout and results in each of those matches will determine whether the direct-berth lane stays in place.
