What happened: The St. Louis Cardinals selected catcher Jayden Lobliner with the 264th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. The pick came on the draft's final day, following St. Louis' selection of LHP Luke Harrison at 234.

Why it matters: St. Louis enters the weekend at 44-41 on a two-game winning streak, with the big-league roster in the middle of a playoff push. Late-round catching depth adds organizational insurance behind the plate as the draft class fills out.

What to watch: St. Louis continues making selections as the 2026 MLB Draft closes out its final day.
