What happened: With the 32nd overall selection, the Competitive Balance Round A pick, the St. Louis Cardinals selected right-handed pitcher Tegan Kuhns in the 2026 MLB Draft. The pick came after St. Louis opened Day One by taking outfielder Trevor Condon at No. 13.

Why it matters: St. Louis used both of its first two selections on premium talent, pairing an outfield bat with a power arm to reload the farm system as the big-league club sits 49-44 with a one-game winning streak.

By the numbers: 32 overall, immediately following the Cardinals' first-round choice at No. 13.

What to watch: St. Louis continues making selections as the 2026 draft proceeds.
