What happened: Boston put a spotlight on a 6-foot-11, 240-pound Houston Cougars big man, calling him "an absolute force" and citing a line of 9.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 48.5% from the field and 33.3% from three. The post arrives during NBA Draft week.

Why it matters: Size and rebounding on the interior remain a premium for the Celtics as they shape the frontcourt heading into the 2026-27 season. A big who can clean the glass and stretch to the perimeter at a respectable clip fits the modern two-way mold Boston has prioritized.

What to watch: Watch for how the role takes shape through Summer League and training camp, and where the rebounding translates against NBA size.
