What happened: CF Montreal dropped six of their opening seven MLS matches. The early deficit set the tone for the campaign, with little sustained improvement to follow.

Why it matters: The slow start left Montreal chasing the table for months and shortened any margin for late-season recovery. It turns attention to roster construction and offseason decisions around the core.

What to watch: Closing results will shape offseason priorities. Personnel choices and early 2027 preparation follow.
