What happened: Los Angeles pulled Herbert and Murphy up from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game. Herbert is a tight end in his first NFL season, while Murphy is a fourth-year outside linebacker.

Why it matters: Practice-squad elevations give the Chargers short-term depth without a permanent 53-man roster move. Herbert was also elevated on Sept. 27, another sign he remains part of the club's game-day depth plans.

What to watch: The Chargers will set their inactive list before kickoff, which will determine whether both elevations dress on game day.
