What happened: Liberty Media director Chase Carey stated that MotoGP cannot achieve widespread recognition simply by copying Formula 1's Netflix docuseries Drive to Survive. Liberty Media acquired Formula 1 in January 2017 and launched the opening season of the Netflix series two years later.

Why it matters: Drive to Survive substantially accelerated Formula 1's global audience growth under American ownership. Carey's warning highlights that replicating a streaming docuseries format alone does not guarantee the same commercial breakthrough for MotoGP.

What to watch: Formula 1 heads to Circuit of the Americas next for the United States Grand Prix.
