What happened: Kansas City designated LB Cooper McDonald to return to practice. The club signed LB Aiden Fisher to the practice squad, waived LB Cam Jones from the active roster and terminated RB Nate Carter's practice-squad contract.

Why it matters: The sequence reshapes linebacker depth as McDonald progresses toward potential activation. Jones departs the 53-man roster after Indiana product Fisher became available Saturday, leaving Kansas City with a younger reserve pool behind its starters.

By the numbers: Fisher was drafted 243rd overall in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Indiana and was waived by Houston on Oct. 17. Jones is in his third NFL season and made 5 tackles in 10 games for the Jets in 2025.

What to watch: McDonald's practice participation will determine whether Kansas City restores him to the active roster. Fisher's role bears monitoring through the next practice-squad cycle.
