Most #Postseason leadoff home runs: Kyle Schwarber: 5 Jackson Chourio: 3 Shohei Ohtani: 3 Derek Jeter: 3 Jimmy Rollins: Via @MLB on X

What happened: Jackson Chourio homered on the opening pitch of NLCS Game 3 to put Milwaukee ahead 1-0. The drive was his third career postseason leadoff homer, tying Shohei Ohtani for second all-time.

Why it matters: The opening run gave Milwaukee immediate leverage in the NLCS. Chourio repeated his first-pitch leadoff homer from Game 2 of the 2025 NLCS one year earlier. He now sits two behind Kyle Schwarber's record of five.

By the numbers: Most postseason leadoff HR: Schwarber 5, Chourio 3, Ohtani 3. Chourio's two most recent came on first pitches in the NLCS, a year apart.

What to watch: Game 3 continues with Milwaukee protecting an early 1-0 edge behind that opening swing.
