What happened: Christian Gonzalez was not on the field at the start of Friday's practice after missing the previous two days with a shoulder issue. Mike Vrabel was scheduled to give another update around 1:10 p.m. ET.

Why it matters: If Gonzalez cannot play, New England would head into Sunday's road game against the Bills without a starting cornerback. Moses' return gives the offensive line one veteran option back while Gonzalez's missed-practice run reaches a third day.

What to watch: Vrabel's afternoon update is the next checkpoint on Gonzalez's availability. Final practice participation and the weekend injury report should sharpen his outlook for Sunday.
