What happened: The LA Clippers will pick up the team option on starting center Brook Lopez for the 2026-27 season. The club is declining the team options on guard Bogdan Bogdanovic and forward Nicolas Batum, sending both toward free agency.

Why it matters: Retaining Lopez locks in the Clippers' starting rim protection and floor-spacing big as they shape the roster for next season. Letting Bogdanovic and Batum reach the open market clears veteran salary and opens flexibility, while signaling a reshuffle of the team's wing and bench depth.

By the numbers: Both Bogdanovic and Batum were on team options that the club controlled ahead of the deadline.

What to watch: Watch how the Clippers redeploy the freed cap room and whether either Bogdanovic or Batum draws a return offer once free agency opens.
