What happened: Ed Dodds will lead the Indianapolis personnel department for the rest of the season. Dodds has been a candidate for several general manager jobs in recent years.

Why it matters: The timing puts Dodds in charge of personnel decisions through the trade deadline. That stretch will shape the roster for the remainder of the season.

What to watch: Indianapolis faces deadline decisions under Dodds, with any permanent front-office call to come after the season.
