What happened: Columbus advanced from Phase One into the eight-team knockout bracket. The fixed format pairs four MLS qualifiers with four Liga MX qualifiers.

Why it matters: The tournament awards three places in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup. The champion advances directly to that competition's Round of 16.

By the numbers: Columbus won the clubs' only previous Leagues Cup meeting 4-1 in 2023, scoring four unanswered goals after conceding first.

What to watch: A regulation tie will go directly to penalties. The winner advances to the semifinals.
