What happened: Como are closing in on a deal to sign Mattia Liberali from Catanzaro after triggering a €6m release clause. AC Milan are set to receive €3m of that fee if the transfer is completed as planned. An agreement is already in place on the player's salary, with final details expected to be finalized this week.

Why it matters: The €3m return rewards AC Milan, who retained a financial interest in Liberali after his earlier move away from the club. For Como, the deal extends an aggressive push to stockpile promising young Italian talent as the club builds its squad ahead of the upcoming season.

What to watch: Final contract details are still to be sorted this week, with completion clearing the way for an official announcement.
