What happened: Cooper Flagg highlighted Kyrie Irving's ability to manipulate the game as a key factor that will simplify his own responsibilities. The newly formed pairing in Dallas is set to share the court for the first time during the preseason schedule.

Why it matters: The integration of the incoming rookie with the established point guard remains a primary focus for the 2026-27 campaign. Irving's offensive gravity is expected to create open opportunities for Flagg against professional defensive schemes.

What to watch: The teammates will test their live-game chemistry as the exhibition slate progresses.
