What happened: Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving shared the floor for their first regular-season game together to open the 2026-27 NBA schedule. Irving facilitated early in the contest, recording the assist on a three-pointer that gave Flagg his opening points of the campaign.

Why it matters: The early regular-season chemistry follows an autumn ramp-up in which Flagg and Irving headlined the preseason starting lineup with Zaccharie Risacher, P.J. Washington, and Daniel Gafford. Dallas also exercised Flagg's rookie-scale contract option on Oct. 17, cementing the frontcourt cornerstone alongside its veteran lead guard.

What to watch: Dallas continues its opening-week schedule as the coaching staff monitors Irving's workload and two-man playmaking reps with Flagg.
