What happened: Joey Porter Jr. has recovered from his back injury. The cornerback is prepared to make his debut for the Dallas Cowboys just days after being acquired in a trade.

Why it matters: The team plans to restrict his workload against Houston as he returns to game action. Dallas surrendered a 2028 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick to secure him, utilizing part of its $16 million in available cap space.

By the numbers: Porter recorded 52 tackles and one interception across 14 appearances during the 2025 season.

What to watch: The coaching staff will evaluate his physical response to the limited snaps as he integrates into the defense.
