The Cowboys hired first, choosing Christian Parker over Gannon even though it was Gannon who fit the profile Jerry Jones Via @WerderEdNFL on X

What happened: Dallas hired Christian Parker over Gannon at defensive coordinator. Gannon landed in Green Bay. FINAL: Dallas Cowboys 13, Green Bay Packers 23.

Why it matters: Jones previously hired veteran DCs with head coaching experience in Nolan, Quinn, Zimmer and Eberflus. Parker did not fit that profile yet got the job over Gannon.
