What happened: Milton cleared waivers Sept. 1 after Dallas released him, then returned to the organization a day later.

Why it matters: The move restores quarterback depth without requiring a spot on the active roster. Milton had drawn interest from multiple NFL teams before choosing to remain in Dallas, according to Schultz.

By the numbers: Milton is 26 years old.

What to watch: Dallas can elevate Milton from the practice squad during the 2026 season if needed.
