What happened: Durant is set to miss a second straight game with a hamstring injury, and Overshown remains sidelined after getting hurt in Week 1. Hooker returned to full participation Friday after his forearm issue kept him out since the opener. James Houston is also available for Sunday, and Joey Porter is expected to play in Houston.

Why it matters: Dallas gets a needed secondary boost if Hooker returns and Porter is available after a week of turnover in the defensive backfield. Overshown's absence leaves the linebacker group without one of its regulars for another game, while Houston's clearance helps preserve edge depth. Porter remains on track for his Cowboys debut Sunday vs. Texans.

By the numbers: Durant will miss his second straight game. Overshown has been out since Week 1, and Hooker has not played since the season opener.

What to watch: Dallas will set its final inactive list ahead of kickoff Sunday in Houston. The next injury report will show whether Durant or Overshown have a chance to return the following week.
